The neighborhood of Lake Bonavista is located in southeast Calgary next to WIllow Park and Canyon Meadows. It sits at an elevation of 1,035 meters, home to a population of well over 10,000 people.

Lake Bonavista was developed starting in 1967 as Canada’s first community to be built around a man-made lake. The land had been a flat, treeless prairie with no distinctive features, and 52-acre Lake Bonavista was created to make the area more attractive. This served as a prototype for other lake communities in Calgary. Fish Creek Park borders Lake Bonavista, providing plenty of outdoor recreation.
